Stossel to Fox Business
Official word is out: Stossel is leaving "20/20" for the Fox Business Network.
That's right - FBN as opposed to FNC, where he'll contribute. Why not big kahuna FNC where viewers might actually get a chance to see him? One of the mysteries of the electronic age...
Stossel is interesting for a blizzard of reasons - notwithstanding the fact that he is a defiant pugnacious pugilistic Libertarian who seems to think the human sea is swarming with malfeasant morons - I'm big into alliteration today - who would pollute our little brains with malicious malware.
He's tough, in other words, and he's so far right wing that he's almost come around full circle and now is probably approaching left wing status for all I know.
Like I said: Interesting.
We've known John forever, going back to his days at Ch. 2, then on to "GMA," and finally "20/20," where he may well be the last hold-out from the glory days, when this was truly a major news magazine.
Here's what JS posted on his blog just about an hour ago...
"It's time for a change.
Here's the ABC statement:
John has been an important part of the ABC News family for decades and we will miss him. He has engaged, and occasionally enraged, our audience with thought provoking opinions and analysis. John is a unique figure in American journalism and will be an asset to Fox News in this next chapter of his terrific career. We wish John the very best and look forward to hearing his take on the great issues of the day from his new home at Fox.
