The 1984 Apple Macintosh commercial
As all the honors pour forth today over Steve Jobs and his monumental accomplishments, let's not overlook the famed 1984 Super Bowl commercial -- the Big Brother ad that launched (in some respects) modern Apple and defined the tech ethos for an entire generation. It was created by Chiat Day, directed by Ridley Scott, although Jobs really created it -- or created what it was supposed to mean. The ad got more attention that the game itself (which no one remembers; Raiders vs. Redskins) and changed the entire advertising industry as well. Here it is...
