'Tis the season -- the November sweeps season, that is -- for shocking primetime twists, and there was no twist more shocking at least so far than the abrupt and final departure of Det. Joss Carter -- Taraji P. Henson -- from Tuesday's "Person of Interest."  She spoke with David Letterman last night about the exit, which -- she says -- she sought, because she was unwilling to sign one of those seven-year series deals that so many actors on primetime series agree to, never quite believing that a show will actually go seven season.

She's been on "Person of Interest" just three seasons, and now, it's back to the big screen. But my bet is the small screen will offer a lure once again --- she was once on "Boston Legal," after all, and a few other shows.

Some clips, including a discussion of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," for which she got an Oscar nod. And for the final clip, Carter's last stand.
