THE MOVIE “The House That Jack Built”

THE DEAL The actress will reunite with controversial Danish director Lars Von Trier (“Nymphomaniac”) for a new feature, Deadline reports. Thurman and Siobhan Fallon Hogan will play women who have the misfortune to meet a highly intelligent serial killer named Jack (Matt Dillon). The film is told from Jack’s point of view as he evades police and takes increasing risks to satisfy his needs. Production begins in Sweden in March and in Denmark in May.

THE MOVIE “Nomis”

THE DEAL The hardworking “Hunger Games” actor has joined the cast of a new thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Other newcomers to the film, about an American police force hunting down an online predator, include Nathan Fillion, Minka Kelly and Brendan Fletcher. They add to an already big-name cast that includes Henry Cavill, Ben Kingsley and Alexandra Daddario.

THE MOVIE “The Women’s Balcony”

THE DEAL This Israeli comedy-drama, a recent hit in its home country, returns for an encore after a local sold-out screening earlier this year. The film tells the story of a group of women whose favorite gathering place, the balcony of their synagogue, collapses. Variety called it a “nicely observed dramedy” with “a fine ensemble cast.” It plays as part of the Gold Coast Cinema Series.
