Nick Jonas has left the fold.

The youngest Jonas Brother has a new band (Nick Jonas & the Administration), a new tour (coming to the Beacon Theatre Jan. 7) and a new album ("Who I Am" out Feb. 2).

But before you get teary, he tells People magazine that the Jonas Brothers are not breaking up. "This is something that can definitely coexist with the Jonas Brothers," Jonas, 17, said.

As for his new band, The Administration includes three members of Prince's New Power Generation and John Fields, a producer.

Fans will get a first glimpse of Jonas and his new mates Wednesday night at 9 on the "Grammy Nominations Concert Live!" special on CBS/2. "I've never really stood center stage before," he tells People. "It's going to be different but I'm looking forward to it."

And if you're looking forward to the group's Beacon show, tickets, $39.50-$49.50, go on sale at 11 a.m. Saturday through Live Nation.

The group's debut album, recorded in Nashville earlier this year, has a rootsy feel, according to a recent USA Today interview. Jonas described their sound as "heart and soul." "It's a cross between my roots in R&B and soul with a kind of rock-pop music behind it," he told the newspaper.
