A Mohegan Lake mother stabbed her autistic son before smashing his Xbox Tuesday night, police said Thursday.

Evelyn Winters, 51, was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, after the incident occurred at a Lexington Avenue apartment around 5 p.m., according to a State Police news release.

The 19-year-old son suffered a minor injury.
