Ex-Gov. Carey supports NY lieutenant governor
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Former Gov. Hugh Carey, who led New York through a fiscal crisis in the 1970s, is supporting Gov. David Paterson's effort to appoint a lieutenant governor despite a court challenge.
"Governor Paterson has appointed a stellar and dedicated public servant to aid him and the state in confronting a dire threat," Carey said in a court filing released by Paterson on Tuesday....
