FAIRFIELD - People who live near the Fairfield man recently taken into custody for keeping guns, bombs and ammunition in his home are shocked by how many dangerous materials were looming next door.

Residents say they're relieved police were able to seize explosives that could have been used in their community. A 65-year-old man called police Tuesday to report that someone had broken into his Bronson Road home. When officers arrived, they discovered the stockpile.

"It's freaky to think that...there was an unstable person with really dangerous explosive chemicals right here," says resident Lynn Prowitt.

Those who didn't know the man say they're still spooked, especially since their neighborhood is home to a large number of children.
