I go to summer camp at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center in Yaphank. I have been going there for years because I love animals! We do lots of fun things there.
We start off by doing lots of crafts in morning care. Then my group goes to the barn to talk about what we will do that day. They teach us how to make ice cream and butter. We run on the playground and jump over logs with the llamas. We go in the goat pen and play with the goats. It is so much fun. The goats are very playful. We also get to feed goats and walk them.
We go on tractor rides and make teepees. We go in the horse pen, and we brush and pet the horses.
We have chicken races. My group makes a track and then we put chickens on it. Then our group does crafts or we have races. We go in the sheep pen and pet the sheep. Then at the end of the day, we go under the sprinklers and then pack up and go home. Camp is so much fun.
The farm camp is at 350 Yaphank Ave., Yaphank, 631-852-4600, ccesuffolk.org
