Father & son hurt in Westchester Square building collapse on Westchester Avenue

Two men were pulled from the rubble and rushed to the hospital, but are expected to be OK.

THE BRONX - Two people were rushed to the hospital after a one-story building crumbled to the ground in Westchester Square.

The collapse happened at 2601 Westchester Ave,. at an office belonging to B&L Auto Repair.

Officials say that a father and son were pulled from the rubble of at around 8 a.m. A dog was also badly injured in the collapse.

The men, identified by neighbors as Benny and Benny Jr., were taken to Jacobi Medical Center. They're expected to be OK.

Officials believe an explosion from an air compressor may be to blame.
