The week's best bets for kids

"The Mighty B!": This delightful new cartoon stars Amy Poehler of "Saturday Night Live" as Bessie Higgenbottom, a 9 ¾ -year-old Honeybee scout. She lives with her single mom and younger brother (voiced by Andy Richter), and her sole goal in life is to earn every merit badge ever created. In the pilot, she adopts a surly mutt from the streets and names him Happy. She also tries stretching herself so she's tall enough to ride a roller coaster. Saturday, 9:30 a.m. NICK

"H20": Cleo (Phoebe Tonkin) mourns the loss of her confidant, her pet fish. Rikki (Cariba Heine) is less than sympathetic, then feels bad so she buys Cleo a new fish. As she's delivering it, she encounters a cute guy who pays top dollar for fish. He says he's with the environmental agency, but he's lying. The girls pull out all their mermaid powers, and soon he is in hot water. Sunday, 6:30 p.m., NICK

"Little Einsteins": Rocket travels to Africa to visit the baby animals. That bad guy, Jet, follows and he steals the snacks Rocket brought to the savanna. This is all done to the accompaniment of Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite," and the kids learn about African pottery art. Monday, 7 a.m., DISN

"Born To Dance": This 1936 MGM musical is where the cliches originated. Eleanor Powell, whose tap dancing was second to none, and James Stewart star in the delightful love story, in which girl meets sailor, falls in love and gets her big break in a show. This pretty much has everything any movie musical fan could want. Monday, 7 p.m., TCM

"Barnyard: The Original Party Animals": Just accept that a singing and dancing cow can be named Otis and have Kevin James providing his voice. With the farmer of this barnyard away, the beasts need some direction and Otis must fill the void. Additional vocal contributions come from Courteney Cox as Daisy the Cow and Sam Elliott as Ben the Cow. Danny Glover gives voice to Miles, a mule. Tuesday, 11:45 a.m., SHO

"The Land Before Time XII: The Great Day of the Flyers": Petrie and his siblings prepare to show their stuff for the Day of the Flyers. Petrie, however, becomes upset because he can't seem to stay in formation. While practicing, he encounters a microraptor, Guido, who is even more confused than he is. With Guido's help, Petrie learns how to fly with the crowd. Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., TOON

"Step It Up & Dance": Tony Award winner Jason Alexander ("Seinfeld") shows up to work with the dancers. In this episode, they learn dancers must not only move to the beat, but they must become specific characters. Alexander, director of a musical theater company that is producing "Damn Yankees," works closely with the dancers as they learn the choreography from this classic show. Thursday, 9 p.m. BRAVO
