SLEEPY HOLLOW - Former Gov. George Pataki threw his support behind Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino in his bid for re-election.
Pataki, who served three terms as governor and was also mayor of Peekskill, says Astorino's success in dealing with environmental issues is a large factor in his endorsement of his fellow Republican.
"To have somebody like Governor Pataki, who unquestionably has one of the best records on the environment in the history of this state, that means a lot to me," said Astorino.
A spokesman for Astorino's challenger, Democrat Noam Bramson, says many of the achievements cited by Pataki were inherited from Andy Spano, Astorino's predecessor.
