Former sheriff's deputy sentenced to prison
BATON ROUGE, La. - BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A former East Baton Rough Parish sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Twenty-eight-year-old Larry Wright, of Zachary, was convicted of attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
On Friday, U.S. District Judge James J. Brady sentenced Wright to 120 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
