Friends mourn loss of Kisook Ahn, Sunshine Children's Home registered nurse who died in Metro-North train derailment

OSSINING - Friends are mourning the loss today of Kisook Ahn, one of the victims who died in the Metro-North train derailment on Sunday.

Ahn was on her way home to Queens from her job as a registered nurse at the Sunshine Children's Home in Ossining when the train derailed.

Linda Mosiello, the home's administrator, said she received a call from a woman who was in the same train car as Kisook at the time of the accident.

"Kisook had actually fallen in such a way that she prevented another passenger on the train from being thrown," she said. "That passenger's life was saved because of Kisook."

Ahn's family is reportedly planning to come to the United States from Korea, but there is no information yet on funeral arrangements.
