The contractor's wife charged with attacking a Rye Brook woman whom she suspected to be her husband's mistress Wednesday forcefully denied that she sexually assaulted the victim.
"Yes, we did fight, I pulled her hair, I hit her," 40-year-old Giovana Osorio told reporters. "I lost control in the moment. It was a moment of insanity. I did not sexually assault her. That's a lie."
Osorio also said her husband had been carrying on a relationship with the woman for five years.
Handcuffed and wearing black slacks and a black-and-white blouse, Osorio spoke to reporters in Spanish as she left Rye Brook Town Court.
The Tuckahoe mother is charged with assault, second-degree burglary and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in the attack that police said occurred early Saturday morning in front of the victim's 4-year-old son.
Osorio's case was adjourned to Aug. 14 and she was returned to Westchester County Jail, where she was being held in lieu of $250,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail.
Attempts to reach her lawyer were unsuccessful.
Carmel police said that when her husband did not return home by early Saturday morning, Osorio went to the victim's Rye Brook home, where her husband had done contracting work in the past. She entered with a duplicate of her husband's keys and went upstairs. There, police said, Osorio found the woman sleeping with her young son and punched, bit and sexually assaulted her.
When Osorio left the house, the woman called police, who found the suspect nearby and arrested her.
Police said Osorio did not know that her husband, Carlos Osorio, had taken a side job in Stamford, Conn., and was at that job the night of the incident.
An order of protection was issued to ensure that Giovana Osorio does not approach the Rye Brook woman or her child.
