Former Jets and Ravens safety Jim Leonhard, who was a big part of Rex Ryan's defense in both places, is now back in the AFC East after signing with the Bills.

Leonhard, who suffered season-ending leg injurie with the Jets in 2010 and 2011, will now re-join former Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine, who holds the same position in Buffalo.

Leonhard is obviously familiar with Pettine's sytem, and his signing comes at a time when Jairus Byrd, who recently signed a one-year contract as the Bills' franchise player, is dealing with plantar fasciitis, an injury that may keep him out of this weekend's opener against the Patriots - if not longer.
