Calvin Johnson's numbers are just off the charts. In his past six games, the Lions' All-Pro receiver has 962 receiving yards, the most in NFL history in a six-game span. Since 2011, he leads the NFL with 4,944 receiving yards and 115 yards per game. Oh, and he's playing with a bad knee that has limited some of his practice time in recent weeks.

Unpredictability is one of the hallmarks of the NFL, and 2013 is living up to that reputation. Halfway through the season, all but one division has at least one team that's either in first place or tied for first that didn't win the division in 2012. The only exception, of course, is the AFC East, a division that is owned by the Patriots.

- Since coming to the Bears in 2009, Jay Cutler has owned the Lions. He’s 7-1, has completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 1,802 yards, 12 touchdowns and only one interception. The Bears are at Detroit on Sunday.
- Bears tight end Martellus Bennett, who had a solid year with the Giants last year, is off to a terrific start so far with three touchdowns in his first three games.

Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who only last week reminded his teammates in a players' only meeting that they needed to refrain from gratuitous hits against opponents, has been fined a whopping $100,000 for his low block on Viking center John Sullivan.
The block occurred on an interception return during the Lions' win over the Vikings on Sunday. Sullivan escaped serious injury.
