Gov. Cuomo announces $3M in Sandy funds for Stony Point community

Stony Point has eight months to prepare and submit its plan for the $3 million.

STONY POINT - Stony Point is now eligible for $3 million to help with Superstorm Sandy cleanup that is still underway, according to Gov.Andrew Cuomo.

The governor, Stony Point town officials and community members attended the first New York Rising Community Reconstruction meeting Wednesday afternoon,where Cuomo made the announcement about the funds.

Stony Point has eight months to prepare and submit its plan for the $3 million. It is one of 102 communities across the state eligible for the funding.

Many neighbors say last year’s storm forced many residents to leave the Stony Point area because of damage to their homes.
