NEWTOWN, Conn. - The governor of Connecticut called the shooting at an elementary school that left 27 people dead a "tragedy of unspeakable terms."

In a late afternoon news conference with state police, Malloy said "beautiful children" had their lives taken from them, and that the events of today will forever leave a mark on the community and on every family impacted.

The governor asked people around the country and the world to remember the victims in their prayers tonight.
