Greenburgh soccer clinic still taking applicants
Applicants still can register for the Town of Greenburgh's 2012 youth soccer clinic for kindergartners, but the deadline is approaching fast.
The last day to sign up is Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Registration forms are available at the local schools and at Town Hall, the public library, the Theodore D. Young Community Center and the Parks and Recreation Department's registration office at 11 Olympic Lane in Ardsley. Or download the forms at www.greenburghny.com (go to the document forms section).
Soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, receiving and throw-ins will be taught.
Kindergartners who reside or attend school in the Town of Greenburgh are eligible to participate. Nonresidents will be accepted if space remains after the registration deadline and will be awarded in the order that applications are received.
The clinic will take place on six Saturdays from Sept. 22 to Nov. 3. There will be clinic on Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 6). Boys will meet 9 to 10 a.m. and girls from 10 to 11 a.m. at Secor Woods Park, off Secor Road in Ardsley.
The registration fee is $45 for residents and $59 for nonresidents. Participants will be provided with a team shirt. Players are encouraged to wear cleats and will be required wear shin guards at all practices and games.
