Greenvale is an amalgam of quiet neighborhoods and a vibrant commercial district. Shops, services and eateries along Glen Cove Road and Northern Boulevard, including those at Wheatley Plaza and The Shoppes at Greenvale, are among local favorites.
Greenvale, which straddles the towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay, has about 200 homes, said Ron Paradiso, a longtime resident and owner of a real estate agency that bears his name. He said zoning differs between the towns: North Hempstead parcels are zoned at 50 by 100 feet, Oyster Bay parcels at 100 by 100 feet, up from 70 by 100 feet that was standard a few years ago.
Houses include Colonials, various ranch styles, contemporaries and a few two-family dwellings.
