Haverstraw police return to park in search for body of murder suspect Eugene Palmer

Clarence Palmer says the body of his father, Eugene, is still in Harriman State Park.

HAVERSTRAW - Police have returned to a Haverstraw park in search of the body of a Rockland man accused of murder 14 months ago.

Clarence Palmer says the body of his father, Eugene, is still in Harriman State Park. It is believed he fled there after allegedly shooting his daughter-in-law Tammy Palmer in Haverstraw in September of 2012. His car was found just outside the park.

Police returned to the park today with cadaver dogs in one more attempt to locate Palmer before winter sets in.

Clarence Palmer says he's glad the police came back, but he believes the initial search drove his father to another part of the park while he was still alive.  Eugene Palmer was described as a skilled outdoorsman
