Hepatitis A vaccinations administered at Lehman High School following confirmed cases at New Hawaii Restaurant
THE BRONX - Confirmed cases of hepatitis A in the Bronx have caused many people to line up for vaccinations.
Everyone waiting in line, some up to 90 minutes, had recently eaten at the New Hawaii Restaurant on Williamsbridge Road. One person waiting in line said that considering how busy the restaurant has been, there could be over 8,000 people who may want shots.
Hepatitis A can be found in the stool of an infected person and can be spread when another person eats something that has the virus on it.
If anyone feels as if they may have been exposed and have not stood in line yet, Lehman High School will be offering the vaccine again on Sunday and Monday.
