High school homecoming celebrations across Long Island

High school homecoming celebrations are taking place across Long Island throughout September and October. Homecoming kings and queens are being crowned, and students are showing their school spirit via everything from parades to pep rallies to powder-puff football games. Some photos were taken with Instagram, an app that enhances the color and tone of photographs and also can allow for special effects, such as the appearance of a Polaroid photo or other vintage look. Share your homecoming photos on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #LIHomecoming, or email them to josh.stewart@newsday.com, and you may see them here!
