REDDING - Today marks two years since Hurricane Irene hit.

The storm left some people without power for more than a week, and Redding residents have nightmarish memories of Irene. Geogie Berry compares walking outside after the storm to walking through a warzone.

The Redding Police Department says the town is preparing for the next big storm with the memory of Irene fresh in everyone's minds.

To prepare, the town has gotten a portable backup generator that can be moved from location to location if a different town-owned generator breaks down. The town has three other generators in addition to the portable one.
