RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Islanders' AHL affiliate in Bridgeport missed the playoffs and its season ended Sunday. Once the Isles' regular season ends -- provided they reach the postseason -- several of the team's prospects will join the big club to skate with the team's extras and be on hand in case of injury. The Islanders put forward Jay Pandolfo on injured reserve before Monday morning's practice at Nassau Coliseum. The 36-year-old, who was relied on in his role as a penalty killer, broke his foot in a game against the Devils two weeks ago. He will be out until January.
