With at least one of the three goalies on the roster often sidelined by injury, Garth Snow said he isn’t looking to trade any of them.

The Islanders are awaiting further tests on Nino Niederreiter before deciding how long the 19-year-old forward will be sidelined. Niederreiter displayed concussion-like symptoms after taking a forearm to the head from Stars' defenseman Mark Fistric in the first period of Saturday's 5-4 victory in Dallas.

Neither headless nor heedless, goalie Rick DiPietro has returned from his latest concussion. He went through a full practice with the Islanders on Wednesday and flew with the team to Florida for its two-day road trip, against Tampa on Thursday and on Florida Saturday.

Evgeni Nabokov's first NHL game in 17 months has the 36-year-old pumped, especially with it coming against the Rangers.
"I hope the crowd will be buzzing," Nabokov said. He found out Friday afternoon he was getting the nod over Al Montoya.
Nabokov left the NHL after a decade with the Sharks to sign with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL last summer. He lasted only 22 games there...Read more »
