A group of Japanese high school students visited Clarkstown North High School Friday to thank the district for its help and support following the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that devastated their town. Twenty-four students and two teachers from Natori City's Miyagi Nogoyo High School are visiting for a few days to show their appreciation for the $16,000 in relief aid raised and donated by the Clarkstown School District.
