Jovan Holden, 25, hurt in Bridgeport shooting; Bryant Elementary School put on lock-in

The incident forced the lock-in of Bryant Elementary school for a short period of time.

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police are searching for the person who they say shot a 25-year-old man in the leg Friday afternoon. 

The incident forced the lock-in of Bryant Elementary School for a short period of time as a precaution during the investigation.

Bridgeport police detectives say that just before 3 p.m., three men in a car were confronted by two other men. At some point, the three men got out of the car and ran in separate directions.

Jovan Holden was shot in the leg and made it a few blocks to Hancock Avenue, where he was rushed to a nearby hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. 

The shooting is still under investigation.
