Junior Miss pageant: Feel like a princess

Have you ever had the chance to feel like a princess? Well, I have. I was in the Junior Miss Pre-Teen Beauty Pageant. I competed in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I won first place and continued on to the national competition.

The Nationals were at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida. There weren't enough rooms for me to have my own room, so I had a roommate. Her name was Paris and she was from California. We also had a lot of parties such as '80s night and Meet the Judges banquet. One thing I did was an interview with two of the six judges. We had three rehearsals and performed it before the top 10 were chosen. We had one day off, which I spent in Disney World.

The next day, I was in the casual and formal wear contests. In formal wear, I answered the question "What makes you happy and why?" The exciting news was I made top 10. Even though I didn't win, I got a trophy and a scepter.

My mom competed in this when she was a kid. She told me she was very shy when she was younger, and she gave me tips on how to be more confident. I plan to run again in the next division.

They just held the competition again in late August, but here is the information if you want to try it yourself: namiss.com/contests
