LAWRENCE - The father convicted of nearly killing his toddler by putting chemicals in her bottle was sentenced to 16 years in prison.     

Khemchan Suliaman was convicted of putting ammonium chloride in 2-year-old Priya's bottle in Lawrence in 2011.

Police say Suliaman planned to kill himself and his child after breaking up with the child’s mother.

Cops found the father and daughter nearly unconscious in a Lawrence parking lot.

The child recovered.
