STRATFORD - Delayed Christmas gifts have begun to arrive after FedEx and UPS failed to make holiday deliveries in time.

UPS and FedEx say they're working through a backlog of packages.

Both companies say packages were delayed for some because of bad weather, the short shopping season and an unexpected spike in shipments.

UPS did not pick up or deliver packages on Christmas, but says it's bringing in more workers to handle the runs.
