Famous for her character's short temper and foul-mouthed hilarity on "Curb Your Enthusiasm," Susie Essman is a stand-up veteran with an HBO comedy special to her credit and more than 25 years of experience behind the mic. No stranger to the Hudson Valley, she has performed in the region on many occasions, often serving as an event host at her alma mater, Purchase College. She earns extra credit for another Hudson Valley educational connection: Her mom was a professor at nearby Sarah Lawrence College.

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 3; 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4

May 11: Fab Faux at The Capitol Theatre

A year and a day after performing at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill, the most impressive Beatles cover band in all the land returns to the Hudson Valley for a show at The Cap in Port Chester. Consisting of "Late Show with David Letterman" guitarist Will Lee, "Conan" guitarist Jimmy Vivino, Rich Pagano, Frank Agnello and Jack Petruzzi, the Fab Faux will be joined by the Hogshead Horns and the Creme Tangerine Strings to perform the Beatles' "Abbey Road" in its entirety and other favorites. "The hardest thing to do is describe [a Fab Faux concert]," Lee told Newsday Westchester last year. "The solution is seeing it. ... We want to capture the magic of the records and bring it to the stage." For $125, fans can attend a postshow meet-and-greet with the band.

When: 8 p.m. Saturday, May 11

Info: The Capitol Theatre, 149 Westchester Ave., Port Chester; 914-934-9362; www.thecapitoltheatre.com; $45-$125; audiences must be 18 and older
