A free kid-oriented jazz show and a free lively puppet show are on the agenda for the 16th Annual Tulip Festival on Sunday, May 1, in Heckscher Park, at the corner of Spring Road and Route 25A in Huntington.

“Jazzy Fairy Tales” with Louise Rogers happens at noon at the park’s Chapin Rainbow Stage. The interactive show combines jazz, storytelling and improvisational theater.

At 2 p.m., “Songs & Puppetry” with Janice Buckner, features guitar playing and puppets. Buckner tours nationally; she has appeared on radio and television as well as at thousands of schools and concert halls.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other children’s activities include face painting and tattoos, crafts such as making pasta necklaces, a “goo booth” run by Mad Science of Long Island, and more. For more information, call 631-271-8423 or visit huntingtonarts.org.
