One amazing day, I met Stan Lee, the man, the myth, the creator of Marvel comic book characters such as Spider-Man, Thor, Captain America and, my favorite, The Incredible Hulk. I was one of the few lucky enough to attend a "meet and greet" at the Philadelphia 2013 Comic Con event with him.
At Comic Con, I saw many displays of costumes, clothes and fun activities like drawing a picture of yourself as a zombie. Many visitors were dressed as comic characters. I painted my hair purple for the event.
My ticket enabled me to meet Mr. Lee in a conference room where people could ask questions and have pictures taken with him. I asked Mr. Lee a couple of questions, such as: "Who is your favorite character you created?" and "When did you start making comic book superheroes?"
Mr. Lee smiled and said, "Good questions, comic book reader." He said he didn't have a favorite one because he loved them all. Each of the characters has its own flaws and powers that he wished he had. He added that he always enjoyed reading and dreaming up stories. When he was about 15 years old, he started coming up with comic book characters. Lastly, he commented about liking my purple hair.
It was a day I will never, ever forget!
