Anyone in fourth grade at our school has to run one mile during gym class in the fall.
I interviewed the gym teacher Mr. Robert Connolly and he says you should run the mile because it is good exercise and good for your heart.
You get timed to compare your score when you run again in the spring.
Some kids jog first and then sprint. Some kids sprint first then jog. I think you should jog or walk first then sprint. I hope you take my advice and encourage your school to participate. It is so great to compare your time from the first half of the year to the last half.
