Having a ball with the Yankees

I attended my first Yankee game during the 2012 season with my mom. It was one of the best days of my life. It was awesome.

My mom surprised me with the tickets. We sat front row on the first base side. We both wore Yankee shirts and hats. My mom even has a Yankees pocketbook. We both love the Yankees a lot.

Before the game started, we watched the Yankees practice and Mark Texiera came over and gave me a high-five. I thought this would be the highlight of the day.

Then the game started and my favorite player, Derek Jeter, came to bat for the first time. The first pitch was a ball. The second pitch was a strike. Then the third pitch looked good, and Derek swung his bat, and hit a foul ball right toward where we were sitting. I jumped up and tried to catch it over the wall, but I couldn't reach it. The Yankee ball boy got the ball. He then looked up at me, smiled and tossed me the ball. I got a Derek Jeter foul ball!

The Yankees won the game. I was so happy, and even happier I got the ball hit by Derek. It was truly an amazing day.
