When I was 8 months old, my parents took my sister and me to the San Diego Zoo in California. I don’t remember most of it, just what I’ve seen in pictures. While we were there, my parents bought me a small stuffed panda. We had seen a new baby panda in one of the exhibits and my parents said it made me so excited.

Ever since I got my first panda, I’ve wanted every single one I’ve seen. I love them. I think I have a panda obsession! My parents, my grandparents, and my friends have given me stuffed animal pandas, clothes and pajamas with pandas on them, books about pandas, and every panda accessory you could ever imagine.

I also love learning about pandas. Did you know that all of the pandas in the world belong to China? It’s true! Even the pandas that live in the zoos in the United States are only on loan. Also, pandas in captivity don’t get named until they are 100 days old. It’s a Chinese tradition. When pandas are born, they are pink and only the size of a stick of butter. I really love learning about them and watching YouTube videos of real pandas.

I have more than 100 pandas in my collection. My favorite is the giant panda pillow that I got for Christmas a few years ago. I hope to keep collecting them, but they might need their own room soon.
