On July 12, 2014, my family and I met Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Buzz was the second man to walk on the moon and is one of only 12 to reach the moon's surface. He was gracious, funny and a pleasure to meet. We started the evening off by making our way down to the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City. After taking a quick tour around the museum, we sat down for a buffet dinner on the main level. During the meal, three astronauts -- Buzz Aldrin, Fred Haise and Walt Cunningham were available on stage to answer questions. The astronauts went on to explain their emotions and memories from their trips to the moon. My brother and I were also able to shake Buzz's hand just before dinner. This was a meaningful experience in my life because I was able to meet a person that has been on our moon. This is something I know I will always remember. Now every time I look at the moon at night, I can recall that memorable time I shook the hand of a man who walked among the stars!
