You probably have heard of the North Pole, and you probably have heard of the South Pole, but have you ever heard of a Peace Pole?

Let us tell you about the Peace Pole that was recently dedicated at our school, Parkway Elementary School in Plainview. It was really cool!

A peace pole is a very large pole you plant in the ground. The peace pole displays a positive message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in eight languages -- Hebrew, Greek, Spanish, Chinese, Urdu, English, Italian and Korean -- and helps to remind us that we should all strive for world peace. On a much smaller level, we hope it can help kids think twice before bullying, too.
