Quinipet is a great place for your kid to attend summer camp and a great retreat opportunity where everyone is welcome. It is located on Shelter Island, and is owned by the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

I’ve spent the night there, and in the daytime have done many fun teamwork-building activities with my grade. There are many types of camps at Quinipet: There’s a family camp, an overnight camp, a daytime camp, and community sailing! So, I suggest you try Quinipet Camp & Retreat Center; you’ll love it.

I’ve been there every year with my classmates ever since fifth grade. We do this event in the beginning of the year called “outdoor ed.” It’s when the whole grade goes to Shelter Island, to Camp Quinipet, and we stay in cabins. We do several activities all under the category of team-building where we get split into groups and have to work together in the activities we do. Even though it takes a bit, we get through each and every activity together. After every activity, you realize that you really need to work together and cooperate with one another. So, go check out Camp Quinipet, you might learn something new!
