I asked kids: Are you fearful or fearless? The results were: 15 fearful students and 12 fearless. Most who picked fearful picked it because they believed it is “impossible” to be completely fearless. “Everyone has at least one fear” said a student. “Being fearless is different from being brave,” said another.

A lot of students said that you can still be brave and fearful at the same time. “I am fearful because even though I might be brave, I am still scared of many things!” said one seventh-grader. Some students even said that they are fearful because of life experiences. “There are just a lot of scary things in this world in general,” said a seventh-grader.

The people that chose fearless had a different response. They say they are fearless because fear gets in the way of simply living your life. “I know I have to live life and not worry about the bad things, said a seventh-grader. Kids said that fear causes worry, which causes someone to think about difficulties and troubles.
