Surprisingly, of the 100 kids we surveyed, 50 voted for cuts and 50 voted for no cuts. Ashraf Hamin and Tony Vigil predicted that more kids would have voted for cuts. We couldn’t believe that it was half and half.

Students who thought it would be fair if there were no cuts said kids can develop skills playing on a middle school team and then end up being a star. Kids who were for the cuts felt that the players who made the team and were good needed more playing time to get even better.
