Bike riding is great fun and great exercise. I love to research bike trails and then explore them to see how good they really are. I have been on a lot of trails and have picked two of the best local trails. These are great bike trails for kids to ride with their family and friends, and I have two words to describe them all: flat and easy.

My first choice is the bike trail at Belmont State Park, in North Babylon, which has a winding trail through the woods. There's a lake that you can ride around, and it looks beautiful in every season. If you want, you can park your bike and go horseback riding or paddle boating. The park also has restrooms and a snack shop.

My next favorite is the bike path to Jones Beach. This begins in Seaford and ends at Tobay Beach. It runs along Wantagh Parkway and the dunes of Ocean Parkway with views of the Atlantic Ocean. This is perfect for summer riding. I really like the Jones Beach path because after you're done, you can park your bike and walk over to the beach and jump in the waves. This trail also has a separate mini path leading to a bridge that's great for fishing. So hop on your bike and get pedaling. Happy bike trails!
