"Parenting Young Athletes: Developing Champions in Sports and Life" (Rowman & Littlefield, $29.95) by Frank Smoll aims to educate readers on how to maintain their children's well-being on the athletic field or court. Includes information on child development, sports psychology and sports medicine.
Smoll also collaborated with Ronald Smith to publish "Sport Psychology for Youth Coaches: Developing Champions in Sports and Life" (Rowman & Littlefield, $16.95), a how-to guide to help coaches use their leadership roles to optimally benefit youth athletes.
"The Last Boys Picked: Helping Boys Who Don't Play Sports Survive Bullies and Beyond" (Berkeley Publishing Group, $15) by Janet Sasson Edgette has suggestions for parents, teachers and counselors on supporting boys.
