The 4th annual Pregnant Island Local Health and Wellness Event takes place from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Woodbury Jewish Center, 200 South Woods Rd., Woodbury.

The event features four speakers: Priya Nembhard, co-founder of Moms Pump Here, will talk about travel tips; pediatrician and lactation consultant Lauren Macaluso will talk about the intersection of medicine and breast-feeding; pediatric sleep coach Rebecca Kammerer of Sleep Cadets will talk about the new guidelines on infant sleep, and Lamaze childbirth educator Nicole Casimir will talk about the childbirth process.

In between the speakers, participants can visit about 10 tables featuring vendors who cater to parents and children.

“It’s educational, it’s fun, it’s social because you get to meet people in the same boat from your own community,” says Eleana Kaidanian, a Roslyn dietitian who is founder of the event.

Admission is $25 per adult; kids are free. Register at pregnantisland.com or pay at the door. Event includes a gift bag.
