The fashion crowd trekked through the real deal to get to his show at Chinatown club Capitale, only to see faux flurries as the models paraded in tailored, serene looks: wool tweed dresses paired with leather trousers, silk blouses with skirts that had pleated chiffon on the sides, terra-cotta suede on front and back. There were kicky bits (fringed skirts, saddle bags). And fur -- fox, mink -- sorry, PETA. Not that we’ve seen them protesting this season. Perhaps the economy’s even forced them to cut back.
