This fashion darling of the moment has a serious pedigree -- his last gig was working as design director for the Bill Blass label -- so it’s no surprise that his clothes are classy. But Gurung,  who told us his inspiration for fall was  “speed, motion and movement,” has imbued a sense of fun into his impeccably tailored collection.

Our favorite piece (and his, too) is the beautifully crafted camel sheath with white draped inserts. Two toned curvilinear coats showed of his master hand. His mélange of furs and skins -- silver fox, mink and croc -- all one jacket -- was statement making (maybe too, but customer Demi Moore needs a little something special to keep her warm). There were floating ruffles, and a peplum and bodice magically suspended in air, though sometimes his flights of fancy went too far.
