There was a buoyant, party atmosphere in the tents Thursday evening, as the last Fashion Week to be held at Bryant Park came to a close.

Tommy Hilfiger had the final slot of the night. And though celebrities were not an overwhelming presence at shows throughout the week, they showed up for Hilfiger. Brooke Shields, Rosario Dawson, Hayden Panettiere, an Olsen twin (Ashley), Russell Simmons, musicians Jules De Martino and Katie White of The Ting Tings, and “Gossip Girl’s” Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley, all sat front row, along with designer Peter Som and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

Photographers sang along to “Sweet Caroline,” then rupted en masse, “Thank you, Bryant Park,” to which Fern Mallis, an IMG vice president and Fashion Week organizer, looked visibly moved.

After his show’s finale, Hilfiger took to the runway, thanking Bryant Park organizers for providing designers a home for nearly two decades. “And now,” he said, “onward and upward to Lincoln Center.” The whole things starts up again once more—at that new location—come September. — Joseph V. Amodio
