Open Road Films announced Wednesday that its biopic of Steve Jobs will be released April 19 of this year. April will mark the 37th anniversary of the Apple Computer Company that Jobs helped found.
"jOBS," starring Ashton Kutcher in the title role, will premiere Friday as the closing night film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Directed by Joshua Michael Stern and written by Matthew Whitely, the film will focus on Jobs' life and career from 1971 through 2001. Open Road Films says the movie "plunges into the depths of his character" and creates "an immensely personal portrait of Steve Jobs' life."
"jOBS" also stars Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.
